This website, smoothgravel.com, is named after a little trouble I've been having with a stone wall — Jenn, for some reason, at the printing company, kept losing my order for stickers, forgetting to make a proof of them, ignoring the e-mails I would send every six weeks or so, yet always responding with good cheer and total professionalism whenever one of her co-workers would nudge her. That's when I discovered the secret of stone walls is — seeking humanity. Finally, after some six months, the printer informs me, "> To: richardroe@aol.com > Subject: Your sticker order > > > The following order has been scheduled to print! This portion of your sticker order will print on 8/14/2012. > > STICKER TEXT: 'a dap' > QUANTITY: 5000 > SIZE: 4.25x2.75 > TYPE: bulk > SCHEDULED PRINT DATE: 8/14/2012 > > You *should* receive your stickers within a week of that date! > Since your stickers are now set up on a sheet, it is too late to cancel your order without facing cancellation fees to cover our costs." What about my costs? $534.00. Actually I'm kind of freaking out like a kid on Christmas — The Stone Wall is being reduced to 5000 pieces of smooth gravel!
