In the same way Tammy Wynette spells out D-I-V-O-R-C-E in her 1968 country
music jukebox hit, and I used to spell out D-O-G P-A-R-K in the
presence of my dogs, this page has encoded within it certain hidden features:
Its creation date is embedded in the actual file name, which in this case
is "page12080814.htm," meaning [20]12 August 8, the 14th hour,
or as programmers might specify, "page<yymmddhh>.htm".
Programmers understand you have to put the period after the final quotation
mark so as to avoid confusion within the specification. The HTML code
which underlies what you are reading also contains hidden information,
including so-called META tags for the benefit of Google's or Yahoo's or
anyone else's search engines. One of the META tags underneath this page
reads, <meta name="keywords" content="daily web site,
inner child, verbal self-defense, self-defence, bullying, mean, difficult
people, conflict resolution, road rage, verbal judo, verbal attack, insults,
diplomacy, communication skills, comebacks, emotional IQ, retorts, taunts,
slurs, racism, sexism, officer training, self-esteem, self-reliance, Walden">
and you might wonder what this page has to do with Walden Pond. That's
where my childhood friend Whitney Davis and I once went skinny-dipping
in the late afternoon, inspiring the following haiku:
Chin up, baby floats;
I wonder why she's laughing
She's making breast-boats!
Most people have essential truths & facts embedded
in them as well, not all of which are obvious as Whitney's nipples.
